Training
After earning a medical degree, dermatologists usually train for 4 years; they intern for one year and then they do a three year dermatology residency. Folowing their residency they have the choice of doing one or two year post-residency fellowship in immunodermatology, phototherapy, laser medicine, Mohs micrographic surgery, cosmetic surgery or dermatopathology. According to the Dermatology Times, the best dermatology clinics include Harvard, Mayo Clinic, Mount Sinai, NYU, UCSF, University of Michigan, UT Houston, and Wake Forest. These programs are similarly ranked in peer-reviewed publications.
